This group is intended for patients who have experienced heart problems.

Caregivers are welcome.

 

What to expect:

· Social connection and support

· Ongoing contact with health professionals

· Keep updated on latest recommendations

· Explore elements of Lifestyle medicine

· Represent the needs of other heart patients

 

2nd Tuesday each month, 1:30-2:30 pm, at Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab, 329 Maine Street, Brunswick, ME 04011

Participants do not need to have been a part of cardiac rehab to join in this group.

Stroke Support Group

This FREE support group promotes wellness in those who have survived a stroke. Each month, a topic of interest to stroke patients and their families is discussed, and guest speakers are invited.Participants have the opportunity to ask questions and learn from others.

The Stroke Support Group is facilitated by a Mid Coast Hospital rehabilitation therapist.

Journaling for Better Health

Wednesdays, April 15-29, 5:30-7 p.m.

Join Maine writer Sarah Kilch Gaffney for this free 3-week workshop series where participants will come together to learn how writing and journaling can help as they navigate the ups and downs of everyday life.

Participants will hear readings, try out writing prompts, and learn about the benefits of expressive writing and journaling. We will explore writing as a tool for improving overall health, processing difficult times, and as a form of self-care.

Workshop participants will get to bring a journal home with them to continue their writing practice, and no prior writing experience is necessary.

Registration is required.

Take a STEP toward better HEALTH

Walking is low impact, and safe with a doctor's okay, for people with orthopedic ailments, heart conditions, and those who are more than 20% overweight. Walking for as little as 30 minutes a day has many benefits, including:

  • Reducing the risk of coronary heart disease, osteoporosis, Type 2 diabetes, and breast and colon cancer
  • Maintaining body weight and lowering risk of obesity
  • Enhancing mental well-being

Join our physicians and health care providers for a walk and talk and become informed and inspired on the journey to improving your health.

You’re invited to join us for A Morning of Intention — a thoughtfully curated experience designed to nourish your body, mind, and spirit.

 

Health in Motion

Begin your morning with an invigorating, improvisational movement. This joyful session will help build stamina, strength, and confidence — all while moving to music in a supportive and uplifting environment. 

 

Mindfulness

Next, enjoy a guided mindfulness session led by our facilitators. You’ll connect with the present moment and engage in a short writing exercise to encourage personal reflection.

 

Mindful Watercolor

Take some time to slow down and appreciate the world around you. We’ll use supplied watercolors to paint in a water coloring journal.

 

A Healthful Lunch

We’ll conclude our morning together with a wholesome, nourishing lunch — a chance to relax and socialize in good company.

In the event of inclement weather class will be rescheduled.

$60 per person
